Why I do what I do.
I think design is key to how we communicate every day, and I believe communicating is best when it’s simple.
What I do.
The purpose of my work is to create user-friendly experiences with new and traditional media … everything from logo design, graphic design, web design and web development.
Where it all starts.
I believe good design always, always starts with a good understanding of the client’s business and the challenges they face. It is important to me to understand the situation, because I’m designing with a purpose. Then, I can really help create the tools that will help a client succeed.
Whether you need a simple poster, or a new corporate identity that will be carried across every medium from print advertising to corporate brochures to outdoor advertising to interactive presentations, show booth or retail displays, and even a website, it all starts with how a company does business and the most effective way to market what they do.
What I’ve learned.
I graduated from the International Academy of Design & Technology in Tampa, Florida. There I learned about design, color and balance. I also learned about print technology and interactive, electronic technologies. But that was just a starting point.
For seven years, I’ve worked to effectively communicate brands across a variety of mediums including print and web. That experience helps me make you look good, regardless of the medium.
Identity is key.
Logo design – a corporate identity – is what often creates that first impression. It needs to reflect the company it represents. I take this type of project very seriously, and I’m sure I’m happy with the ideas before they’re ever presented.
Web design isn’t the same as print.
Understanding every medium is important, because the medium should never compete with the message. Sometimes a client wants Flash on their site – to make it stand out. Well, I can do Flash very well. However, I tend to focus on the overall purpose and function of the site. I will work with you to determine the best applications to deliver impact, as well as optimum performance.
